Health Update - Getting Back to Movement After a Rough Health Patch
▸ Show notes from the creator
After nine days without moving my body, I finally got through a stretch class, and I got dizzy twice. In this health update, I'm sharing how I'm easing back into movement, why it matters so much for my mental health, and what's next while I wait on answers.
I've dealt with rough nausea, weakness, and months of feeling like I needed a nap by noon. Blood test results are still pending and an ultrasound is on the calendar, but the worst finally might be behind me. Movement is the first thing I asked my doctor about, and I explain why it clears the cobwebs in my brain as much as it helps my body.
I'm also breaking down why More Movement Please is moving to video. The goals are to reach the YouTube Partner Program before the watch hour requirements go up, grow our community, and make the show easier to share on social media. Whether you're watching or listening, thanks for being here.

Men, you might not want to listen to this one. What's up my movers and shakers? Famous Ashley Grant here. Welcome to More Movement Please, the podcast where I hope to inspire you to move your body more. So I'm smiling today because I have a health update. It seems like the faucet has finally turned off. That's the nicest way to put it. I still... I'm in very much need of answers in terms of what's going on with my health.
00:30
But it seems like the insane dosage of birth control that the doctor gave me did in fact stop the faucet at least. Still dealing with some pretty rough nausea. Still feeling kind of weak. I think it'll take some time before I can fully feel better. But still waiting on blood test results. And tomorrow I have an ultrasound scheduled to just kind of get to the root of the issue and find out. What the hell's going on with my body? Very thrilled to report, however, that I was actually able to get through a stretch class today. It's the first time in, what, nine days since I've moved. And it felt good, but I did actually get busy a couple times. I did have a little bit of trouble. So I'm kind of easing back into things. I'm going to ease into work today and I'm easing back into movement.
01:19
But it did feel really, really good to to finally do a stretch class. And I I do have it on my calendar to do a walk a little bit later today because I just I need to get back to movement. Like I told you guys before, mental health wise, like that's the one of the biggest things that movement does for me is it helps me with my mental health. And I can really feel that I have not moved much. And I don't just mean from a physical perspective. I also really mean from a mental health perspective. It does something for me.
01:47
It helps unlock the crazy in my brain and kind of clean out the cobwebs and make things feel better. So yeah, the Reader's Digest version of my health update, so to speak, is that faucet is turned off. If you know, you know. And yeah, we're just kind of waiting on the blood test results. trying to, I guess, get my blood count back up because I, yeah, I've been in bad shape. And hopefully this will be the first day that I can actually stay awake all day. It's been several months since I've been able to stay awake all day without feeling like, oh my God, I need a nap. It's been really rough. And yeah, I know they say that some of this crap comes with age, but hopefully I can. get some answers and and mitigate you know any other future health issues i may have going forward it's been it's been really rough and um i appreciate everybody who's messaged me everybody who's reached out everybody
02:49
who's you know sent prayers and and all that jazz um it was it was bad y 'all like i mean so much pain so much nausea i'm still dealing with the nausea but um I'm just more than anything anxious to get back to movement. That was the very first question I asked when I went to the doctor. When I finally went to the doctor, I was just like, when can I get back to the gym? And she's like, whoa, let's just calm down there for a second and get the bleeding to stop. And she's right, I know. But yeah, it's just one of those things where when you start becoming addicted to movement, the idea of not being allowed to move, I'm chomping at the bit. I just want to get moving again. So I'm hopeful that tomorrow I can go back to the gym. I actually am recording this on Wednesday, the day that this is coming out. I recorded the Monday one on Monday. Normally, I batch record these episodes and slowly drip
03:39
them out over time as the dates come up to have them scheduled and all that good stuff. But where health has been the priority lately, it's really been a... white knuckle it, grin and bear it and hope to God I can get an episode out. So I'm grateful that I was able to get this out. And I'm also grateful that it sounds like all of the tech issues that have been happening with trying to get this video podcast going. Sounds like the tech gremlins have finally also calmed down. And so that's why the last several episodes have been video. Some of the content that I have coming up, there's audio that will be happening.
04:15
I had mentioned this before that I have a lot of voice notes that experts have sent me. Some of them are video, but most of them that I have in the queue right now are audio only. And so my plan is to just kind of come on and do what I've been doing of doing the reaction and I'll play the audio. with their headshot or something on it. But yeah, going forward, I'm hoping that all of these episodes will be video podcasts.
04:40
That is the plan for several reasons. And just for full transparency, I'll give you guys a little quick overview as to what that is. Number one, I am trying to get into the YouTube Partner Program. I would like to do it before they double the amount of watch hours that you need to have in order to be part of that program. I'm also hoping that by making this more visible, We can get the community to to grow. That is a huge goal of mine, especially, you know, as we close out 2026 and going into 2027. I would love to see the more movement police community really just.
05:15
thrive I would love to see that because the more people that we can get in it the more I can you know hopefully inspire folks to to move their bodies because I can't believe how much of a change it's made in me and I want that for other people so uh so yeah that's that's one of the things and also when you have video it makes it much easier to promote on social media and I am going to be doing a lot more social media promotions I am looking at basically the best way to put it is the lowest lift way to get the maximum results. Because as I've mentioned to you guys before, I do have a full -time job.
05:50
I, I, um, and my full -time job is, is my content business where I ghostwrite for other companies. And I, you know, do a lot of different content for other companies. And though the goal is to ultimately make this my full -time job until that. day comes where I can you know actually make enough revenue to to make this the only thing I do I do have to be realistic and I do have to you know mind my time as it were that is why we're moving to a video podcast format so whether you're listening to this or or actually watching this thank you so much for being here I really appreciate it and if you want some accountability to you know start Getting yourself encouraged to move your body more. We don't talk about diets.
06:32
We don't talk about challenges and all the other fluff that some gym influencers and fitness influencers talk about. We're mainly focused on movement. And I would love to have you in the group. It's famousashleygrant .com backslash group. And if you join us, I ask the same question every single day, and that is, have you worked out today? And the reason that question is so important is just knowing that someone's going to be asking you that and having a space where you can actually say what you did and how you moved. That accountability.
06:58
matter so much. And it's definitely what inspired me to really keep going on my fitness journey once I committed to it. And I want that for you guys too. So yeah, join us at famousastrogram.com backslash group. And I'm just excited to be smiling and not keeled over in a crap ton of pain. So onwards and upwards, my friends. Have you worked out today?
